SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) -Four times in the last two weeks teenagers across America have died suddenly while engaged in sports activities.

RAPID CITY, SD – Monday night a high school basketball team in Michigan is preparing for its first tournament game, just four days after its star player hit a winning shot then collapsed and died.

Teen Athletes’ Deaths Sudden: Heart Screening Needed

A tragic number of athletes’ deaths have been recorded lately. What makes it more tragic is almost all of them were teenagers. Four teen athletes have been died in a month and this is really an awful situation. Recently Wes Leonard died of a heart attack when he was playing basket ball. He was a terrific basket ball player for western Michigan high school. He was giving his winning shot when he fell on the ground because of cardiac arrest. He was taken to the Holland hospital immediately but he couldn’t survive.
